Sole Traders and Partnerships – If you are a sole trader, you will be used to doing everything in the business yourself. Selling, buying, providing services, recruitment, site management, raising finance, health and safety, arranging insurance...you get the point. I can take some of those worries away.

Sole trader services

At Pie Accounts we can:-

  • Review whether sole trade is the best platform for you to run your business. As opposed to partnership, LLP or limited company.

  • Register you for self-assessment with HMRC and Class 2 NIC

  • Arrange access to the latest bookkeeping and accounts software. We prefer Xero, but we are comfortable with other providers too.

  • Provide training for Xero

  • Prepare your year end accounts and self-assessment return

  • Process and chase your CIS refund

  • Arrange for a seamless switch from your old accountant

  • Unlimited phone calls and email communications

  • Annual meeting to review accounts and business plans

Partnerships can work well, where the skills of 2 or more people complement each other. We can provide all the usual sole trader services and also the following:-

Partnerships (traditional) services

At Pie Accounts we can:-

  • Register all partners with HMRC
  • Prepare partnership accounts
  • Prepare self-assessment returns for each partner and a partnership tax return

Limited Liability partnerships combine elements of a traditional partnership and a limited company. They are typically used by the professions, however recent changes in tax law have made businesses reconsider whether an LLP is the right structure for them.

Limited liability partnership (LLP) services

At Pie Accounts we can:-

  • Assist with the formation and registration of the LLP
  • Arrange access to cloud based bookkeeping and accounts software. We prefer Xero, but we are comfortable with other providers too.
  • Provide training and support for Xero
  • Prepare the partnership accounts for the LLP
  • Prepare self-assessment or corporation tax returns for the members of the LLP
  • Arrange for a seamless switch from your old accountant

  • set up and register you with Companies House and HMRC
  • either advise and train you on an accounting system or provide a bookkeeping and accounts service for your business

  • prepare and file your accounts with companies house

Contractors and Freelancers - For contractors and freelancers, setting up a limited company is often the most effective way to run their business. However, it is important that you feel comfortable that your contract does not fall within IR35 and therefore expose you to additional tax and NI in the future.

For Charities

To maintain public confidence in the work of charities, charity law requires most charities to have an external scrutiny of their accounts. For smaller charities with gross income of £500,000 or less this usually takes the form of an independent examination.

We can provide an independent examination for an affordable fee.
